1. Overview & Core Philosophy

SaM ("Study AI Mate") is engineered on a Local-First, Zero-Egress Privacy Model. We believe your educational documents, study habits, and notes belong strictly to you. We do not sell your personal data or utilize your proprietary uploaded study documents to train public foundation models.

2. Information We Process

• Account Credentials: Handled securely via Firebase Authentication (email, UID).
• Ephemeral AI Payloads: Uploaded PDF documents and text snippets are processed in real-time by Google Vertex AI / Genkit Cloud Functions for generation and are not retained as permanent raw public files.
• Local-First Sandbox: Flipcard decks, Chapter notes, Mock Exam items, Pomodoro logs, and To-Do reminders are stored directly on your physical device using isolated storage keys.

3. Cloud Infrastructure & Security Controls

All cloud communications are strictly encrypted in transit using TLS 1.3:

• Google Cloud Platform: Serverless processing is isolated within secure Google Cloud Functions (asia-south1) and Vertex AI global endpoints.
• Secret Management: System keys and cryptographic operations reside in Google Cloud Secret Manager and never leak to the client application.

4. User Rights & Data Deletion

Because your primary study data is cached locally on your device, deleting an item in the Workspace completely purges it. If you wish to delete your cloud account record and associated transaction balances, you may request account termination at any time through support.
